Current Status of the Bronze Package

I've tried for years to create a truly affordable website package. I finally came up with a low-priced package I could truly feel proud to offer.

Unfortunately, over the years I have consistently failed to solve the problem of how to actually make any money on this package. Why? The difficulty comes down to this: People in the lower price range require free unlimited customer support.

For some reason this is not true in the higher budget range. Why that should be so is a total mystery, but every one of my web developer colleagues has made the same observation.

The bottom line is that the only way to provide unlimited "free" customer support without quickly going out of business is to use a "rent" model where the high initial costs of paying the people who provide that support is amortized over many years. Thus, for example at TherapySites, a "free" website with "free" unlimited customer support will have you paying over $700 a year forever.

I had hoped to save therapists a large sum of money by offering an affordable website they can own. There's such a huge difference between paying $700 once vs. paying $700 every year for the duration of your career!

The only solution is to charge a livable hourly rate (currently $85/hour) for all time that is spent providing personal assistance (customer service).

But if you truly need someone to spend a great deal of time explaining everything you don't yet know about websites (and chances are you DO need that), then clearly you MUST have unlimited free customer support!

So spend $59 and make good use of that free service from one of the companies that offers websites on the "rent" model. Then when you're all up to speed, come on back and talk to me about an affordable website that you can own.
